A high-energy promotional film capturing the spirit, scale, and community of Cincinnati's iconic Flying Pig Marathon — built to drive registrations and celebrate race day.
01 / The challenge
Communicate the energy, community, and raw challenge of marathon running in under 60 seconds — while staying true to the event's playful brand identity built around a beloved flying pig mascot. The video needed to turn viewers into registrants, not just inspire them.
Balancing emotional inspiration with practical urgency was the central creative tension of the project.
02 / Our approach
We built the film around kinetic typography — letting the words carry the emotional weight while race footage brought each frame to life. Fast cuts, dynamic text animation, and a carefully designed sound edit worked together to create relentless forward momentum that mirrors race day.
The color palette started from the event's existing brand and pushed into a more cinematic range — deep shadows with bursts of color at key moments of impact.
03 / The outcome
The final film ran across the event's social channels and email campaigns, capturing both sides of the event — the challenge and the joy — in a format built to drive early registrations.
